Three Bucs Collect All-Region Honors

Three MassBay Men's Basketball players have been named to the NJCAA Region 21 All-Region Team for the 2022-23 season.

First-year guard Mason Lawson (Boston, MA) was named to the 2nd team, second-year guard Crisrael Lithgow (Revere, MA) earned 3rd team honors, while second-year forward Lewiss Garcia-Martinez (Revere, MA) was selected as an honorable mention reciepient. 

Lawson was second on the Bucs in scoring this season, averaging 15.6 points per game. He also led the team with 5.5 assists per game, which ranked him #3 in the region. On February 4th, Lawson knocked down two free throws with no time remaining in overtime to lift the Bucs to a 103-101 victory over Springfield Tech - a game in which he netted a career high 31 points.

Lithgow was MassBay's third leading scorer on the year, averaging 13.7 points per game. He scored a career high 38 back on January 31st vs Bristol, and knocked down a game winning three at the buzzer to defeat Bunker Hill and send the Bucs to the Region 21 semi-finals on 2/25.

Garcia-Martinez tallied 7.5 rebounds per game, which led the Bucs, and was the 12th most in the region. He was also second on the team in field goal percentage, shooting 48.9% on the season.

MassBay finished the season with a 15-11 (14-9 Region 21) record, and made their first appearence in the regional semi-finals since the 2016-17 season.
