MassBay Buccaneers Release 2025 Soccer Schedule; Optimism Runs High Under Second-Year Head Coach Kidwe Sandiford
The MassBay Buccaneers men’s soccer team has announced its 2025 schedule, and excitement is building as the program enters its second season under Head Coach Kidwe Sandiford. After laying a strong foundation in his first year at the helm, Sandiford is poised to guide the Buccaneers toward new heights in Region 21 competition.
The season kicks off on Tuesday, September 16, when the Bucs travel to Springfield Technical Community College. From there, the squad faces an early road test at Massasoit (Sept. 23) before returning home to Butterworth Park for its home opener against Holyoke Community College on Saturday, September 27.
October will see a packed stretch of games, including key Region 21 matchups at home against Northern Essex (Oct. 7), Roxbury (Oct. 14), and Community College of Rhode Island (Oct. 18). The Bucs will also host Bunker Hill Community College on Oct. 21, a showdown that has grown into one of the most anticipated fixtures on the schedule.
The regular season sets the stage for the Region 21 Tournament, with quarterfinal action beginning on October 28, semifinals on October 31, and the championship scheduled for Sunday, November 2.
Coach Sandiford, entering his second season, has emphasized building a strong culture of commitment, resilience, and belief. With a year of experience behind his team and a full recruiting cycle completed, the Buccaneers are ready to showcase their growth.
“We’ve made tremendous strides in establishing our identity as a program,” Sandiford said. “This schedule gives us the chance to measure ourselves against some of the best in the region, and our players are eager to rise to the challenge.”
With a balanced mix of home and away contests, and a roster infused with both returning talent and promising newcomers, the 2025 Buccaneers aim to be a contender in the always-competitive Region 21 race.
