Hichos nets Hat Trick as Bucs settle for 3-3 tie

First-year forward Simon Hichos netted a Hat Trick in his first collegiate game as MassBay settled for a 3-3 tie against Springfield Tech on Saturday.

Framingham's Hichos scored all three of his goals on penalty shots - the final one coming with just under a minute remaining in the game.

After the Bucs jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first half on Hichos' first two goals, STCC came storming back midway through the final period. The Rams scored three goals within a ten minutes span to take a 3-2 lead with 12 minutes left in the match. After a handball was called in the box, Hichos connected on his third goal of the evening with 49 seconds remaining to secure the tie.

With the tie, the Bucs move to 0-0-1 on the season, while STCC goes to 0-1-1.

MassBay travels to CCRI for a Region 21 match on Tuesday (3:30pm).
