It was a big weekend for MassBay's women's volleyball team, as they swept a Region 21 Tri-Match hosted by Bristol Community College. The tri-match sweep was the first for the Bucs since re-starting the women's volleyball program in 2017.
In the first match of the day, the Bucs defeated the hosts 3-0. The first set was a great one which saw the Bucs pull away for the 25-20 win. MassBay cruised to a second set win 25-11, and then finished the Bayhawks off 25-17 to end the match.
After a brief break, MassBay came out on fire against Roxbury, their second opponent of the day. The Bucs dominated the early, and put the Tigers away 25-6 to start the match. Set two was a much different story, as Roxbury jumped out to a 12-3 lead. A great run by MassBay got them back into it, and eventually saw the Bucs pull away for a 25-20 win. MassBay completed the game and tri-match sweep in the final set with a 25-17 win.
With the two wins on the day, MassBay improves to 3-5 on the season.
