The Buccaneers Women's Volleyball team earned a split at the Quinsigamond tri-match on Saturday, collecting their first win of the season along the way.
In the first match of the day vs QCC, the Bucs started out in dominating form, taking the first two sets 25-11 and 25-13. The Wyverns battled back in the third frame however and took the win 25-22. The fourth and final set of the day turned out to be a great one, as both teams battled back and forth in what wound up being a 27-25 match ending win for MassBay.
Undefeated Bunker Hill (4-0) was up next on the day for the Bucs. After two very competitive set losses for MassBay (25-17, 25-21), the blue and white finally broke through to take the third 25-20. The final set was another good one, but the Bucs could not hold on as the Bulldogs pulled away for a 25-17 win to complete the match.
The young MassBay squad is back at it this week, as they host Northern Essex (8-0/4-0) on Tuesday night at UMass Mt. Ida (6pm).
